Top 10 New Releases on Blu Ray Blu-ray10.evjoy.com : Feb. 2nd, 2010 - Welcome! This week: Zombies - Saturday's full moon must have gotten under our skin. Plus some trippy weirdness at the Lake House, in Las Vegas & the City of Eternal Night. The week's jam-packed with new releases, so we've squeezed in a couple above & beyond the top 10... 1. Phenomenal transfer for this sci-fi mini-classic. Spoiler alert: style defeats substance. 2. Zombieland ~ Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson ( 2010) A notable entry in the oft-ignored Horror-comedy genre. Woody works his usual magic on-screen. 3. We counted 43 plot twists, then had to take a bathroom break. Small time hood (Robert) stumbles into an acting audition & winds up in Hollywood. Let's just say it gets complicated. 4. "Keanu is totally over-the-top & thrillingly emotive!" --Kidding 5. A Scottish doctor's life becomes entangled with one of the world's most barbaric men: Idi Amin. Fictional thriller with a political/historical backdrop. Forest Whitaker's highly touted performance as the Ugandan dictator. 6. Brutal & intense. Not for the faint-of-heart. 7. Oscar-winning screenplay. The gritty, sordid tale of sex, scandal, betrayal, and corruption of all sorts. 8. 9. Get out your polka-dotted zebras & screaming eggplants, it's one heck of a road trip. Yes it does Jennifer, but then the kids come along, and it's all downhill from there. Mystic River ~ Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Kevin Bacon, Emmy Rossum (2010) "Clint Eastwood's 24th directorial outing and one of the finest films of 2003." --Jeff Shannon Gigi (1) An American in Paris Mona Lisa Smile ~ Julia Roberts, Kirsten Dunst, Julia Stiles, Maggie Gyllenhaal (2010) Think of it as an all-female quasi-tribute to 'Dead Poets Society'. Julia is effortless in her role here. This week's Blu Movers & Shakers Documentaries Of The Week: 2. Academy Award winner package. Hi Def Music Of The Week: 1. Lots of buzz about this 'Who' double disc since Pete Townshend announced they're playing the Superbowl. Rightfully so - it's simply the best doc of the band out there. 2. Walk the Line ~ Joaquin Phoenix, Reese Witherspoon, Ginnifer Goodwin, Robert Patrick (2010) The story of how Johnny Cash became, well, Johnny Cash. (Turns out he's Scotish by the way - not a drop of Native blood in him.) 3. 4. (3) More Great Concerts on Blu Ray...
